The pageant, called "Beauty for a Cause", consisted of swimsuit, evening gown, and talent competitions, but more weight was given to ecological and environmental intelligence in the interview portion since the Miss Earth winner serves as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations.[14][15]

The delegates were first trimmed down to 10 in the semi-final portion, which included Singha. The pageant, which promotes environmental awareness, was won by Catharina Svensson of Denmark and participated by 42 delegates representing various countries in the world.[15][16][17][18]
